If you were trying to choose between a hot CZ-3D and a E-Trac which would you chose and why?

I want a good stable multi frequency coin unit and both of these meet the basic task. But I can't seem to make a decision between the two. If you were in my shoes and just wanted a deep multifrequency coin unit, which would you pick, and why would you pick it.

Thanks in advance for the help.
Mike

Well if I were in your shoes, and had the bad experience I did I would have a CZ-3D. These things will be all over the place with depth and there isn't much you can do to make it better. I sent mine off for special tuning and he adjusted a few things but couldn't make it do much more that 6" on a dime.

Don't know anything about a E-trac.

Good luck,

Ron

I had good experiences with a cz6a and cz3d. Sure do like the weight difference between the F 75 and the etrac and cz.'s, though. HH jim tn

CZ3d loves iron and modern trash as well but gives up nothing to the etrac in depth.
You can chest mount the box of the 3d for improved ergonomics.
Etrac out IDs the 3d all day and would be my choice as it is the more versatile depending on the type of sites you hunt.

I used an etrac for one summer and liked it....I just got a Fisher cz6 that I haven't got to use yet...I put together an external speaker set up for it that works great..However the Id needle on works once in awhile and the disc knob doesn't work at all...The internal contacts are gone...Little mini teeth things...Lol...Oh fun...I hope to repair the original disc knob or buy one...But the disc knob has a bunch of resistors soldered to it...Could be a bit challenging. Man does that cz6 air test really good on gold and silver...At the end of the day I'm not sure what I would rather use. The TTF on the etrac worked really well for me hunting colonial sites...I think the cz would be best for parks for me. We have alot of parks from the 1800's here and there are alot of deep coins !

Don't know about the E-Trac because i have never had one. Bought a cz-3d in 2007 and have not looked back. I hunt old picnic groves, campmeeting grounds, and 1800's fairgrounds and like how it brings the old oddball coins ( trimes, half dimes, 2 cent pieces, shield nickels, and older indians ) into the high tone in the enhanced mode. I think if you are going to hunt the older sites you won't be disappointed with a cz-3d. I see where some people complain of digging a lot of nails. I find if you work a 360 circle around the target and it stays in the high tone most of the way it is usually a good target. Nails seem to bounce from high tone to iron when you circle them. At least that has been my experience.
