If you use a Digisearch, what TID numbers have you found gold rings at?

Does gold jewelry and in particular gold rings have TID hits across the range or do they hit just in certain numbers?
Thanks,

Julien

Gold Rings and other jewelry can read anywhere on the numbers, but chance are it will not read up in the 177-180 numbers if it is gold. I would say most gold rings I have found will read around 140-150 right in the nickle range. The highest I Have seen one that was gold read was 174 I believe it was and was a wedding band.My nicest gold ring that was bigger ring read 141 and sounded like a nickle even though this is a beaver tail number and sounded so much smoother. This is why I tell people if you want gold you got to dig everything, but with the Sovereign i find any signal that is different sounding and smoother sounding should be checked if looking for gold rings. This will help with the odds of finding gold without digging everything.

The reason for my asking this is because I am searching a fairly large area, about 2,500/3,000 sq ft for a gold diamond ring that is known to be have been lost there. I may well end up digging every signal in the area but first I am going to go over the area a few times digging the "best" signals. I have bee over about a third of it once and that took a good 8 hours. I have a bag full of junk and a few finds as a result. I am going to use your info to scan the other 2/3 digging everything between 140 and 150. Then if I have not found it I will go back over the 2/3 digging everything that sounds "good"... then go back and dig everything. The everything using a Tejon...

If it is there I will find it. Hopefully your info will save me a lot of time and work!

Thanks,

Julien
