Yep ! We did it again! We went out for some water detection. Detecting isn't the first thing on your mind once you get out of the house and there is 6 inches of snow on the ground... but we decided to give it a try anyway. Forget about the lake hunting... ice is now too thick to get thru. So we had to take a look at moving water. We drove a long way and looked at several uninviting spots.
After a while, we decide to try it anyway. First attemp wasn't exactly the best location. Once you chased the polar beaars away with twonies ( they dont like those coins... they beleve they actually use living bears to mint those coins.. )
where was I ? Ah okay, once the bears are away and you pay tribute to the local eskimau tribe... you have a chance to detect. Unfortunatly, that never before detected beach turned out to be solid clay bottom... no way to find a coin in that muck...
So we got back into the car and drove a long way again. We finally located a place we taugh could be good. Unfortunalty, it was too far for the car and we left the cameras in the car...so the pictures are all coming from the same spot.
We no ice at the second place... instead we were granted 2 feet waves that prevented us from detecting the deeper areas. And since water level was really high... that limited the finds pretty mutch.
As if things weren't bad enauph... had problems with the trusty tiger shark and had to go back to the car and took the detector pro back up. The detector pro didn't let me down. I did managed a few coins totalling 3.62$ plus a junk ring, but that was it for me. Luke was more fortunate with a nice chunky silver ring.
But after a while, waves beating me and some water managed to leak in... decided i had enauph and that was it for the day. Weather is suppose the get a bit warmer next week. Heack we might be returning there !
Here are a few more pics... notice the ice on luke's excal ! It may look cold, but we were sweathing under all those coats !
