I'm all set with the Compadre for the tot-lots with the small coil

now ... I'm struggling what detector I should use for the bigger areas.
I'm torn between these.

Silver Umax
Cibola
Tiger Shark.
(I know the Vaquero is a good maching but don't want to mess with manual ground balance)

My interest in hunting: Socer Field - Baseballs field - etc. Fresh Water Beaches.
(Don't plan on Salt Water usage)

I'm tired of losing sleep on this thinking about it ... I apprecaite the expertise from
users in this group so please respond!

My thanks to you in advance!

I wouldn't let manual GB stop you from getting a Vaquero. It's a breeze to set and once you do you probably wont change it more then 1/2 turn from location to location, that's been my experience anyway. It only takes about 30 seconds to set and your good to go. It's also a must in some areas where mineralization may be an issue. In some areas, if you want to get the most from your detector, ground balance is a must. Just my opinion.

Get the Vaquero, you'll be glad that you did. Once you get the ground balancing figured out, it takes every bit of 10 seconds to balance before you start detecting a new area. Good ground or bad ground, you're going to get more depth with a detector you can ground balance. My Vaquero is super deep and I don't worry about leaving good targets behind, because I know that I have one of the deepest detectors made. I promise you that ground balancing is very simple to do and is not very time consuming.

Plus one with JimCVA, and if the control box is mounted below your forearm, it makes a great land detector too, runs extremly well in the iron (quiet)

Golden U max is also a good choice for hunting ballfeilds
For what he's describing, you hit the nail on the head. THREE detectors in one: beep-dig, notch, tone ID. I'm drooling on the screen now just thinking of one.

I have to agree that the Vaquero is the way to go. Love mine, and ground balancing isn't hard to do at all.

I have to vote for the Vaquero also......very deep and sensitive and the ground balance is simple to adjust. The Silver

Out of the ones you mentioned I would go with the Silver
