If you had to hunt....

in the wet, salt sand with the Tiger Shark, how would you set it? I'll be hunting in Port Aransas this weekend and I want to try the Shark out down there.

I wouldn't If I could avoid it.
If I had to, I'd switch to SALT and start with the DISC about 3 - and turn down the sens. This will be an ongoing tweaking until you find what makes it stable - likely that will be around 40% of full span. The TS is a very sensitive VLF detector and so it doesn't like salt, regardless of the advertising. Youll also find the VOL will need to be pretty high to overcome beach noise.
It also bites that you have to adjust the SENS with the cover open, balancing the tweaker (nonmetallic!!) and the detector - all while covering yourself with a towel to prevent sand from getting anywhere near the o-ring seal.
