If you had to chose only one

If you had to choose only one detector, considering power requirements, and ease of use....Which would be the last detector you'd part with? I own several guns but if i had to pick one it would be a .22 rifle.... Whats your best, most dependable, all around detector?

Depends on what you are hunting for.------For deep silver--Etrac.------For gold nuggies (AND gold jewelry), relics & "clad stabbing"----F-19/G2+.

After today I would keep my Tejon, just seemed to work real well today.

If I was 20 years younger I would also go with my 22 but at my age I will go with a AR-15.

That's a tough question.....it would either be my Fors Core or Racer 2. I guess I would have to flip a coin, one would go and the other stay.

Easy. The White's MXT. It does it all, easy to use, easy on batteries, rugged, deep, good separation, great audio, many aftermarket coils to chose from, made in the USA, great customer service.

My F70...or my Compadre.
No, the Compadre...sorry, gotta go with the F70...or not.

For all around in the most sites in any and all of the most difficult conditions at the best most shocking depth it is the F70...but I can't give up the Compadre even though I only use it sparingly.
It is just too much fun.

I can't answer this question.

AT Gold......it has a true all metal mode, iron audio, excellent audio discrimination capabilities, works as well in freshwater as on land. If I want better depth or better target separation, I just switch to a different coil of my choosing. Works for me. :)

Interesting question and even more so with the variety of answers. I have sold off my stockpile of detectors to where I only have only one left, the CTX 3030. It does everything that I use a detector for and quite well I might add.

Easy question, since I've only got one detector and it works great, F5. One gun would be my 20 guage pump shotgun, holds 5 shells and all you have to do is point in the general direction.

Mine would have too be my Nexus MP a total beast of a machine but easily tamed for trashy sites as well ;)

Makro Racer 2. It performs better in some situations than any other detector I've used in my 42 years of detecting, and it performs very well at any other type of detecting I do other than water hunting. It's not my number one detector for all types of detecting I do and that's why I usually have 8 or 10 detectors but for all around use, I'd keep the Racer 2.

Not sure if I could only keep One. I like to dirt fish and I also like to hit the beach out to shoulder deep. So I could not just keep one.

Asking a coil swinger which machine is a lot like asking 10 Largemouth Bass Fisherman what is the only lure that is catching bass right. Now.

Each of those 10 will give you a different answer. It depends on what works for that individual.

I understand, ...but there's a fire late one night, you pass the detectors on the way out and can only grab one....

Mxt pro, rechargable battery, many coil options, easy to use, deep, good separation, it's a whites and it's American owned and made.

Fisher CZ5 is my go to detector , and has been since 1993, I have used many detectors and the CZ5 has never been bumped from the number one slot.

Without doubt it would be the latest modified Nexus MP. A deep seeking detector on both high and low conductors . I am lucky enough to own one.
