If you had a choice would you choose a 15 inch WOT or a Platypus coil for an Explorer 2 - and why?

Hi Tagamet,

I have both, I use the Platypus around the parks and in the bush and the big 15" WOT on the beaches, each has it's own application and I love them both, wouldn't be without either. The 15" is a little heavy but if your tough enough you can manage, I swing for about 4 hours straight without a break and after lunch get back into it again.

All the best....Boony

Thanks for the replies. My stock coil just went belly up a couple of days ago - hence the need for another "large" coil. The WOT advertises that it's actually a tad lighter than the stock coil. I DID get a SwingyThingy, so the issue of "toughness" should be moot.
Thanks again for the replies,
Tagamet

Most beginners wouldnt have a clue what to make of all the signals coming through with the big standard coil. In trashy parks it is way way too big for a beginner. The explorer should come with a 9 inch coil as standard. For sheer depth on worked out sites though i have found the standard coil to pull coins out from beyond depths matched by anything else.
