I also posted a similar post today on the metal detecting forum. I thought it was important for everyone to read this...just not Whites owners.

I saw a post entitled Ouch! (On another forum) On the way back to his vehicle a th'er talks about thinking he eyeballed some gold. He set his mxt down and next thing he heard was the sound of his mxt being crushed as he drove away!:veryangry: The gold was not real by the way....

He posts three pictures and asks that everyone try to be careful where they set their detector down. I was very disturbed by a few responses! We always talk about all th'ers being so caring...Hey we all joke around a little...but a couple of the responses were not only insulting but also just basically made fun of the person....Having a few laughs is one thing, but I do not think most of us find this funny, or I at least hope not!

on some people who are so unhappy with their own lives that they have to get fulfillment only by enjoying the misfortunes of others!
I've noticed it's usually the same ones who think their machine is the ONLY good machine out there and be-little others machines & finds.

Regarding the Jerk who bad mouthed the unfortunate fellow who ran over his machine. They are out there as we all know. I have to believe that somewhere in there upbringing they were never taught compassion or consideration. They are a small percentage but seem to revel in being heard so we hear from them often. I have two sons who are in Law Enforcement. They tell me 98% of all trouble is created by the same 2% over and over again. They get very tired of dealing with the same 2% all the time. Now I am not saying those Bad Mouthers are Legal offenders but they certainly offend the average considerate person with their inconsiderate remarks.

I just wanted to see how others felt about this! I wonder what the mentality is of these people posting on the forums who always have a smart insult and never offer help. If they find something good they want to be praised...but never offer anything positive back.

Dale its a good point, I think we all are hoping to have the best machine for us. Or one day want to upgrade to the newest detector. Picking one for all conditions and saying it is the best would be foolish! But i really like my DFX....

There was swearing, insults, one guy even recommends fraud...a lawyer none the less! Light hearted kidding, about having your detector smashed! Not sure anyone laughed except the ones who said it!

that is if it is the same one I saw. Said MXT vs Dodge. I saw it on the Whites Forum, general discussion section that I go to through Tnet link. I looked again and saw nothing but well wishers. He may have posted multiple sites though. Anyway, you are right in your statement about the swearing and insults as being just plain wrong, however, someone that runs over their own detector deserves a little ribbing.
