If You Could Go Anywhere For A Metal Detecting Free - Paid Holiday, Where Would You Go?

Kind of an open ended question. Some like water, some like relics and some like Roman coins. Personally, I would like a nice ocean beach, with a lot of signals with good potential to get rings.

The Fields of Gettysburg then probably off to jail as it's
Forbidden Territory!!! Just Dreaming but really I would
like a tropical water location for the Big Gold jewelry...

I would go to Senda's house, and beg him to take me around some of his spots. He's got it all, in my humble opinion....beaches, old, old Spanish coins, not to mention the most BEAUTIFUL scenery! Spain...is my final answer!

Hey,I can 'Dream" right ...........

There is danger involved!:help: Below is a short video of my first winter hunt.......

How about a week with JOHN!

Not only great detecting, but you could learn coin ring making,
jerky and beverage making, endless detecting stories and great bits
of knowledge. THEN a bit of PT to get you into shape for the next day.
Oh yes, it must be in the August time frame...I do enough winter hunts
by myself.Second thought: John does have an inviting fireplace...

I would like to go to Amsterdam and the rest of Holland. I had a trip set up in 2010 and a member of the forum had offered to take me to a castle metal detecting. Had to cancel and hope to get over there one day while I can still get around and do some dirt fishing. Amsterdam is my adopted city and I made 4 trips there between 1997 and 2007. Wasn't into metal detecting until December 2007 and after seeing some of the water finds of Leo on the Garrett water hunting video, I sure would like to hang out on the beach and do some water detecting and hit some castles and other old sites. I also would like to hit the island in Spain that I read about with all the beaches and tourists losing their jewelry in the water. Think if was called Ibiza?

Australia, to try the gold fields. Or alternately.... Your back yard, to clean out that test garden....LOL

Thanks Dr.GRUFF lol you have a good eye. :please: Spain is a big target, there are many options.
We are dreaming, I remind you, the reality is different.
We have thousands of beaches of all sizes. Ibiza ... a fantastic place but be a little younger than I am now my eyes suffer too much on its beaches and terraces topless ... No please, something calmer. Beaches of rich people like Santander or San Sebastian must be very interesting to jewelry level.
There are many castles, towers, bastions and houses strong enough for everybody to detect. thousands of acres of crops, full of interesting things.
Battlefields of Rome against Carthage, Rome against the Iberians and other towns. Gold mines exploited by the Romans. Templar castles and other famous order of knights. 900 years of Muslim presence in 90% of the peninsula. Civil wars and foreign invasions ... continue? To me if I get a full permission, the site is less important.
A holiday in Canada, as you have said, with John would be a dream ... this jerky attracts me, but also it anywhere you, any American state. Finding for gold nugget, find in a battlefield, a ghost town, on an old farm and everything looks so appetizing.
Amsterdam and the Netherlands are also my second country, it would be good match ever, 20 years I've been visiting.
The British Isles possibly will be my decision, you have much to look and above all ... it is close and not very expensive.
Senda

Shhhhh! Remember that story years back, where a guy posted pics of his brand new test garden which he proudly put together one weekend. Well, he ended up going on a weeks holiday, and when he returned, his nice test garden was now full of holes and his detector remained quiet on every target he had so precisely buried...

Poor fellow....I did feel sorry for him, but it was kind of funny.

Ah-ha! A relic man. I bet you sure would find some goodies there: http://www.nps.gov/parkhistory/online_books/hh/1a/hh1g.htm

I would find that site very tempting too!

Love the looks of the accommodations. They remind me of a year I spent in northeast Iceland.
And the FURNISHING are intriguing, I sure I would stay warm and the beer would stay cool.
