[size=large]When I put the battery in my new Compadre, it acted funny.

Popping and making a lot of noise.

I was kind of worried, but hunted last night with it like that anyway.

This morning I put a new battery in it and it has been fine ever sense.

The battery that Tesoro supplied said good to 2013.

You just never know.

I have had to replace a brand new battery before and it was a Duracell.

If anyone has any problem like that, be sure to try a new battery or two.

Happy Hunting,

GOOD POINT! A couple of years ago I thought my SSumax had died for sure. Removed the battery, put in a "new" one and same problem. Put in another new one and it's been fine ever since, problem solved. Just because a battery should be fresh and good doesn't always guarantee that to be the case.

Hey Tab----I've gotten so before I install new batteries in my detectors, I test every one of 'em with a voltage tester (if I'm in an area where I can do it).---You can sometimes get one (or more) bad battery in a pack of batteries, even if they are new batteries.---I got this neat little tester I bought at Radio Shack (can't remember what I paid for it but it wasn't THAT much).--I think it's some of the best money I ever spent for M.D. equip.-use it ALL the time.--The catalog # on it is 22-810--------Del

Digital electronics are more sensitive to voltage(higher or lower than spec) than analog. My Vaq. gets unstable sometimes when the batt. indicator gets down to 2 or 3 beeps.
