Ok what would you use if you didn't have a Tesoro and why.

Let's hope that never happens
 
I would use my E trac. But if you mean what would I use to fill in that Tesoro niche I would use Fisher. I would use Fisher because like Tesoro they are light,fast and deep.
 
Gosh !!!! I hope not,,,,,, then I guess it would be my Mr. Bill modified White's IDX Pro that I would use in my iron nail trashy spots. Right now I depend on the Outlaw for the nasty iron places I hunt at.

I like a fast response and quick recovery 2 filter detector to work the goodies out of the trash and the Outlaw is extremely fast and quick. But the IDX Pro ain't no slouch in that department either with the 6
 
I'd hate to not have any Tesoro's in my arsenal but in responce to you question.
In trashy iron/nails I have had good luck with my Troy X-3 which I have all the coils.
And also I have used a Fisher 1236X-2 with good success in Ghost town type places.
right now I'm hunting trashy demo sites with Fisher CZ and 5" coil, that way I can cherry pick when I get tired.

But there is Tesoro's and I'm glad of that for sure

hope that never happens but if id did I guess my choice would be a Eurotech Pro or fisher units such as the older units 1200 series units

I need an excuse to get another Tesoro.
Managed to assemble an arsenal that covers all my hunting needs at a reasonable cost.
So I already have a choice.
For shallow targets
Vintage White's Minimaster TR and AH Pro Pro-2
Wife's Garrett 550 ATX
DP Wader Water hunting
Older White's Blue & Grey deep coins, relic, ID machine
Mirage PI with 10.5" Coil for water and beach hunting
Mirage PI (land unit) with 5, 7, 9.5" coils for gold, jewelry, coin hunting

I hunt with the PI more now than with any other machine.

So I am just going to wait until the CAZ makes an appearance, hope its the excuse.

My trusty IDX Pro.....Just picked up another one in mint condition form a lady on CL for $50!!!!! It was still in the cardboard box!!! Looks like late hubby used couple times and put away...sweet machine...
 
@idxpro wow what a steal, i would love to try one one day, I'll give you $60 for it ;) lol

Main detector would be my Xterra 705 then the Omega with the big coil in large open spaces without lots of trash.

Sven, I am jealous. That White's Minimaster is great in iron and for hunting small cashes in abandoned houses.
 
Well if there was no Tesoro then maybe the Compass factory didnt burn down and I would be swinging a Compass.

Fisher Gold Bug if Tesoro doesn't get off it's rear end and produce the mystical Cazadores. Summers' rapidly approaching here in the high desert. I'm retired, sorta. My tax return is in.
 
Reason I am asking is I would like to ge another detector this year and where I live is very limited on dejector sales . It's great if I wanted an at pro Which I don't(ever) so I would like to see what the Tesoro people would use instead so I can research different brands

Odds are I get another great Tesoro ...........but
