If money was not an issue? .................

and you could buy ONE material thing, what would it be. No sneaky stuff now, no fair buying and selling, preferably something you could afford to keep. Think hard now:biggrin:

Probably a new set of hips for Alice!!! Seriously!!!!!!!

She could use them and if price were no object, I would send her south of the border to the best clinic [Mayo??] for that.

If there were health issues or pending health issues, I would do all I could to prevent them, or make life better for those with them. If it was just to keep me happy and the wife, I already am, but If that money was available like you present it, I would put up and indoor arena, big enough for horse shows of any sort and or motocross indoor riding. I'm looking at something like the Astro Dome or bigger here. What the heck, its free one time money, think big. The sports being able to pay to do the upkeep on it and allow me to keep it. Heck, I'll even help them erect it, being thats what I did for a living. That would do it for me.

this is an exercise in realistic thinking that came into my mind recently. I kinda knew my friends here well enough to pretty much predict the answers so far and i had a couple i was thinking of posting for myself but they don't hardly hold up overnight.
Note that i specified one material item that one could afford to keep. I simply cannot decide on ONE because i guess i do not want just one specific thing not counting good health for family and friends. I'm still conflicted i guess:shrug:

My bro in law had a Super Cub with the oversize engine back in the day. Not as good as these new Carbons but still a joy to play with in the north country. We would land on some mighty iffy spots by normal standards and you could fly "hanging off the prop" at about 25mph ish.

You question sorta puts the old "grey matter" into gear, but it'll need some time to come up with an answer.

It sure stirs up serious thoughts about priorities, etc.

I have an acquaintance that owns an early series Cub and years ago I watched as he flew it into a strong head-wind so slowly that at times the little tail dragger was flying backwards!

You don't see that every day,

It doesn't work out. Hanger fees, annuals, overhauls. It's worse than a boat. Should have listen to my old man, on his three F rule, he always told me if it flies, floats, or has babies, is the nice way to put it, Rent It your money ahead. Well I had horses, all kind of animals, boat's and now I want an airplane. I like the Kit Fox, it has folding wings, so no hanger needed. Plus with home built you can do your own service work. Just the 2 cycle motor people run on a Kit Fox just doesn't have that sound. Like motorcycles you got to have the right sound.

And I have always felt that you were a man of the highest honour!!

When I was overseas and things weren't so peachy, I had a discussion with the good Lord. I asked Him for only three things in life, should I bel lucky enough to return to the good o' USofA.

a. just a little piece of ground to call my own for a season
b. to be able to live in relative peace the rest of my life
c. and a woman who would love me and me alone...forever

Hell! Two outta three ain't so bad! :D

Money is not so much the issue...the issue is SANITY. BAHAHAHAHA!!!.

I not really big into toys. But I am getting real tired of hunting public land here in Michigan. If I could acquire a few hundred acres to call my own I would be pretty happy.

It would be land for me too. The ideal place would have a stream for fishing, fields for growing hay, timber and mountains, a log house and big barn and be backed up against BLM or Forest Service land. A bonus would be old dwellings or sites to dig. My own paradise....
