The stock coil is a concentric coil.....says so on the box. Other coils are available...again need to see which machines of theirs run at 7.8KHZ>

It also states that the GB range goes all the way down into the SALT range. SO one would assume it has a remote chance of working on a beach..not that I would get close to the water but hey...if it can handle damp sand then woohoo....right!

a stronger audio response on weak targets.
While i thought the F4 was a decent unit at it's price I had trouble hearing weak targets even with headphones on, and unfortunately there was no way to increase the audio response on deep targets.
Now the F5 has a stronger audio response verses the F4 and with an adjustable threshold you can make those weak targets easy to hear.
 
Humm I see the Ace 250 runs at 7.1 htz..the F5 at 7.8 htz should be a awesome coin hunter..
