IDX Pro And Coil Question.

GranPa-Munster

New member
I just purchased this machine along with two extra coils. Machine has Mr. Bills Mods and the coils are: Thin Profile 800 Pro Scan mounted, 5.3 Bulls Eye and a 4" Blue Max. No stock coil just the three I mention..I am not a White's user, looks like I will be now, just asking, would these coils go hand and hand, or what would be a better choice...Working in TOT lots, school yards, parks, open fields etc etc.

You're loaded for bear with those 3 coils. I don't think you really need anymore coils. Those you have will get the job done.

You are going to love your IDX Pro.

Congratulations to you GranPa, you just bought one of White's best detectors:clapping:

I have had the exact detector going on 4 years, it's easy to set up, turn it on fully clockwise with maximum sensitivity, set the disc at 9:00 on the disc.knob. and everything else on pre-set.

Put the 5.3 BullsEye coil on it and start hunting......if it starts chattering lower the sensitivity some. It is a real easy detector to run, Have fun!!!!!!!!

PS; don't swing the coil too fast, it is a slow motion discriminator with a fast response, quick recovery circuit, you'll like 'er.

Okay, two reminders actually:

Once set up as 'Hombre' stated, with maximum Sensitivity, Disc. control at the 9-o-clock position (and with the toggle to Normal), and the Frequency Shift at the factory Preset, do the following:

1.. Adjust the tuner for a slight audio Threshold hum.

2.. Adjust the Ground balance in the All Metal mode so that it is set just very slightly positive. By that I mean you adjust it from about 6"/8" down to about
