I got one finally! Been usin a wht cl III so I feel it is going to b easier than going to another make or model. I've seen so many good things about the idx . But I'm open to any suggestions on the best use for this unit. Coin shooting is most likely going to b it's job. Thx's for the help! gottit

Get to know the detector is always step one. Hunt & hunt some more. Get yourself some smaller coils is step two. The 5.3 & 8" are great coils. Get the detector modded by Mr. Bill is step three. Then you have yourself a great slow swinging coin shootin detector. Step 4 is to find enough to pay for steps 1 through 3.

Well that is what I thought I have the other coils. I used the 9.5 mostly with the cl III. I was thinking the 5,3 would be best for coins . I'm at a lost about the best way to use the 8" coil ! gottit.

Howdy gotit

Out of all my detectors (11) the IDX Pro is one of my favorites, mine has the Mr. Bills ground balance and threshold knob modification. Last time out with it, I found two indian head pennys with it. One indian head was all by itself with no trash around it, it read solid zinc penny. The other one I found had trash above it and the meter was jumping from pulltab to zinc penny. To find it, I had to dig up a lead sinker, a small piece of aluminum, and then it read zinc penny. I was amazed that it would find an Indian head thru all that crap. HH............Hombre
