Hey bill525,

nice field test for the id excel. i really enjoyed it, very comprehensive. i also read the field test by andy sabisch over at Lost Treasure. what a joke!i could have written a better field test. i wonder if he just wrote that on the back of a napikin at a local diner while having lunch. did he even get paid for that? he should stick with pimpin minelabs. im not dissin the guy, i just expected better. any way i should be getting an excel here in a couple of days, looking forward to trying it out when the snow melts here. im looking forward to the number display and the fast learning curve, i definetly dont have 30-40 hours of learning curve time and this machine still sounds powerful enuf. so i'll let you know how it goes .

& I really hope you enjoy the Excel......it's the best bang for the buck in it's price range, & amazing in heavy trash.
AS for the LOst TR. field tests....If I'm not mistaken they are heavily cut down word-wise. I had more time to test & freedom on word count..

I thought Andy's test was fair enough. Its just too bad the ground he tested in was so bad he could not open er up a little more. Same thing with the Edge field test. He did make it clear that many other machines operate the same way in that type of ground so I have no beef with it. Heck he was still gettin very good depths and pointed that out. :)

Oh BTW Bill I probably never told you this before but your field test was good too..for a pimp that is.

Well in retrospect I was a little hard on Andy. I had just read Bill's field test and then read Andy's and there was no comparison is all. I mean he did write the minelab Bible right? Just joking....btw 8 inches of new snow yesterday...will it ever end!?!?
