I found this "ring" earlier this morning at a beach. My F19 was giving me a solid 81-82 from all angles at six inches in the wet sand. Out came this thing. It appeared very dark (almost black) when I got it out but it came out shiny with a little bit of cleaning. I thought it was junk but I'm not sure. There are no markings. it's non magnetic. It's only about 3/4 of an inch in diameter and weighs 2.6 grams. ID in air is a solid 83 and my other detectors also show a high conductor reading in the high copper, low silver range and one single unwavering number.
I found a link to a very similar ring from a Canadian ring maker. I found a few European links with rings such as this as well. It gives me hope that it is silver.

Is there a way for me to know if it's silver without going to the jewelers ? Is there an acid test to be done on silver like there is on gold ? Any electronic devices ?
Thanks.
