Identify Catholic Medal

I am trying to identify a medal left to my son by my father. The medal type might be bronze or copper. One side is Jesus and maybe Mary. He is probably giving communion. The other side reads: "SOUVENIR - DELA - MISSION - 1903". Can anyone help me identify this medal. It is about the size of a quarter and has a loop for a chain.
Thanks.
