Found two of these yesterday Buttons very thin and very cupped even though they look flat in pics.

ID? ERA?
 
i am no button expert, but it appears to be a molded button from the pic, my best guess would be colonial to civil war era, leaning more towards colonial era.
i have found several buttons from those time periods none with the straight molded shaft ... nice find. hope someone can give you a better ID
be interesting to know the era ... also on the much older molded colonial era buttons i have dug up, i have yet to see a backmark. i do not see one on yours either ...
 
Looks like a 20th century button. The 2 circles on the shank side have always been present in modern buttons I have dug/seen.
