Id pop cans - Nevada garys tip expanded

I tried Nevada garys tip on identifying beer tops. It works wonderfully (works on any large iron as well). I also tried it on a flat crushed pop can. It was smashed straight down in the shape of a big coin. It sounded off in the dime/quarter plus VDI range. I identified the edge of the target and moved my coil just to the edge of the target on both sides. Instead of sounding off in the negatives it gave me a vdi of 31 to the 40's. I was using the relic mode with no discrimination. I tried it a couple times and it worked great. This target was shallow and was smashed perfectly round. This technique may be harder to use on irregularly smashed cans. I havent tried it yet. Hope it works for you. Thanks Nevada Gary! HH Jason
