Handsome,
I agree with the above and will add.... READ and READ and READ here... especially the FAQ....
If you want to dig jewlry, DIG ALL POSITIVE NUMBERS! If you are not getting junk and nickles, you are not getting jewlry...
Early on... I skipped lots and lots of 16-24 range items... I noted I was digging very few nickles... and came back the forums here and read and read...
As Randy says - "You never know, JUST DIG IT!"
I air scanned lots of jewlry here at the house... and gold ring that s small and thin can register as 4-8 and a big heavy one that is yellow gold can range into the 20's... silver will register as high as 42 depending on the size of the ring...
This 1811 thin button @ 5-6 inches register very inconsistantly... Very very iffy signal, I believe because of how little metal... same as a lot of kewlry can be...
This ear ring rang in the penny / dime range... In my early days of digging pennies all day.. I might have skipped over it in the heat of the day.... I learned to enjoy the journey... and dig them all,,,
That sterling silver ring on the left is big and dense... rang 42, 42, 42.... I was sure it was a quarter @ 4"... I was suprised
This silver pirce showed an iffy 40 reading... would have been easy to to miss... the clasp on the back it not silver... and caused the signal to partially appear as junk skipping like can slaw can...
This ring resistered as an 8...
Her was a nickle @ 6-7 inches that registerd from 8-24 and jumed all around in that range...
Get out, HAVE FUN! Don't measure your day by the finds only.... SLOW DOWN, dig them all, enjoy the journey... good stuff will happen!
Just my thoughts....
Paul
