Found this at a late 19th or early 20th century home yesterday with my XLT. It is about the size of a silver dollar, made of copper, and on the back has a hook at the top and what appears to be a belt loop on it also. Sorry about the blurry pic. took with camera phone. My partner found a chicken button from the 1800's and a 1940 Mercury dime. Had to watch out for a wild hog that had just left one of the houses we searched.

Don't know. Could be from some secret society if that is an eye on top. Pretty cool about the hog tho  I have been charged by bulls before, no bull. Have a good onee!

It is made of brass. The copper look is what happens when the brass item has been in the ground for a long time. The copper will leach to the surface, giving it the appearance of being made of copper. Post a better pic and we'll see if anyone can ID it. GH, David@Dixie
