Galveston Bay and surrounding areas were pounded by a monster Hurricane a little over a week ago. I, being a news hound, have been looking for information and video of the devastation on our local TV broadcasts since then. The day after, at first light, before the news crews were able to get inland and show what had happened in the area, I saw a little bit of video of the area but it seemed that the crews were cordoned off in the same area basically showing the same stuff over and over again. Here it is a week later and you hear absolutely nothing about it.
Now......
Katrina hits New Orleans and regular programming was interrupted for at least a week showing all of the Idiots that refused to leave. For the next month, the news and various special reports continually hammer the New Orleans situation. Everyone was quick to point their fingers at the U.S. Govt. when it was the local Govt., especially Mayor Nagy and the Gov of LA. who were at fault, with out a doubt. Congressman Jefferson Davis, of New Orleans, gets busted with 90,000 cash of bribe money in his freezer and you have not heard anything about that since ! Gangs and looting (even the cops) took over the city........it was so bad that several times, rescue helicopters were actually shot at. Every one blamed Bush, some even claimed that it was his fault that Katrina hit LA. in the first place. Levies failed because the Govt. office in charge of maintaining them were also on the take and money earmarked for improvements "simply had disappeared". Why have there not been any arrests and prosecutions for this theft? The New Orleans Superdome was used as an evacuation shelter and the animals that were let inside trashed the place like a Nirvana concert still no one takes the blame and heads simply turn as they choose to ignore it.
Back to TX......
Most residents leave as they were warned to..... in an orderly fashion. Massive loss of life is avoided and even though Galveston is in as bad a shape as New Orleans, no one cares because it can't be used to further anyone's political agenda. Residents return to find everything they owned, gone. But they don't start looting and stealing TV's and killing each other. Instead they follow the rules needed to maintain order and help each other out as they can. It makes me SICK to see what the Liberal media tries to do in order to sway popular opinion.
If you don't believe it........ the next time you pass a big magazine rack, take a look at how many covers have Obama's or his wife's face on it. But that's another rant for another time.
