Initially I thought it was a railroad spike until I cleaned all the mud off it and saw the hole at one end.

Over half a pound in weight, this sinker is "current"ly being used as a paper weight on Hank's desk.

What I don't understand is how any fisherman could reel this thing back up with a fish attached to it...it is so heavy...it must go really deep into the ocean...

Heck, I was on the Columbia yesterday fishing for sturgeon and with the water moving as it was, I had to use a 32 ounce sinker to keep my bait on the bottom.
Nobody likes using that much lead when fishing but it is just neccessary some times.
My tackle box contains two 32's, two 24's half a dozen l6's and a couple dozen sinkers ranging from 12 ounce down to 8 ounces..
Never have to worry about that tackle box flying out of the boat on the drive home.

for broiling Halibut here is a easy technique.
spread some Mayo on top of the fish and broil it until the mayo starts turning brown. Flip the fillet over and do the same thing again.
There a tons of ways to cook this type of fish but that is a way way for a first-timer to get a great meal without risking screwing it up.

fresh Sword fish, Shark, Flounder, Tuna, shrimp by the boat loads and lobster, has something new and fresh almost everyday ;)

Hey next week I'll ask if he has any of that Virgina halibut
