I'd like to build a custom rod for my detector...

What size tube and where can you get it from, also what other parts are needed??(turn-clamp?) Is it just cheaper to buy one pre-made?? Want to build light Straight shaft w/ handle + arm cup.

You might be willing to contact Bill Plugger who makes all kinds of straight shafts for living. It is a very nice honest gentleman:nerd: and I am sure he will share where to get the stuff. Look for PM:yikes:.

I'm you could build it cheaper than the +$100 that they cost.

I just built two the first one for everyday use . which is one pc of alum & the carbon shaft, the other is a 3 pc. travel shaft Here 's the break down.
You can make two out of this 6' pc. & have some left over for another one.

Taco Aluminum tube.
7 /8" O.D.----6' length

It's alot cheaper doing it this way, If I can figure out how to put smaller pictures up I'll post some. I have made a bunch like these & they work GREAT , They are on my BHID , & The Excal, Plus I have extras.

detector pro .......................makes a great s/s one - $$$$,but works great

whites will work - no info.

or the plastic one that came with it will work for a spell, get brittle with age
