I'd like to take a minute and say thanks to everyone for posting some great finds on these forums.
I just lost my Dad last night after a stroke he had last week and in the past 4 years, my brother and sister and I have been trying to keep him and my mom at home even though they have had broken hips, and illnesses which made it very hard at times, but we just supported each other and managed to get through the tough times.
I started this hobby about 3 years ago and have really enjoyed the limited time I am able to get out to do it.
My dad always looked forward to looking at my finds when I got home and sometimes I actually had something nice to show him.
I quickly found that getting out detecting even for short periods of time helped me "recharge my batteries" and when I got back home, I felt like I could take on the world again until I could get back out to detect.
I also looked forward to checking out everyone elses finds when I couldn't get out myself and believe me between detecting and looking at the various posts, it has really help me cope with my responsibilties between holding down a full time job and caring for my parents.
I would also like to say thanks for all you good folks in assisting me with questions concerning detecting and IDing my strange finds.
This past year has been the most trying with my mom breaking her hip last December 8th and my Dad having a stroke last week ( Dec. 9 ).
I don't mean to drag on, but just wanted to say thanks for the great posts.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I also hope you get the find of a lifetime in the upcoming year!!
I would also like to thank my buddy Percy Gibson for taking me under his wing and sharing his hot spots with me... he is one great guy and even when we don't have very good luck, we still enjoy and getting out....so you see, sometimes it's not about the finds you make, but the friends you make.
Keep up the great posts and God bless,
Felix
