ID help

Can anyone help me ID these items? They are small lead tags with braided wire on them.[attachment 57454 DSC000632.JPG] The one with "558" has "MP" on the back. They were found in an old 1940's era soccer or recreational field.

They look to me like seals that were used on electric and gas meters,

That's kind of what I was thinking. The "MP" probably stands for Mississippi Power.

Some local Water districts are still using them, County water system in particular..Strange that you found them tho. Wonder if there was an old house in the area you hunted.....Must have been one near by at sometime, I think you got some good glues there!
