The coin is made of copper and is the size of a silver dollar. The "20" is slightly off center and there is a wreath all the way around this side. I see a date of 1782 I think
 
i agree its continental, look in alberts book but doesnt quite match the button, being its the size of a silver dollar it might be a rossete for a saddle or something the buttons are made of pewter not copper but almost 100%sure its colonial. very nice find congradulations.
