I think this is half of a womans belt buckle..This type was common from the 1850s-1920s. The belt was cloth and just a clothing thing.

It is a Knight's of Pithius pin. Formed between friends of the North and South around the time of the CW. They had their own belt plates, buttons, etc. Sorta like a fraternity. The Peace Lily is the key. Nice find, David @ Dixie
