Found this tag at a school in Cleveland Ohio near a set of railroad tracks.
Is it a baggage claim?
It's about 1 and 3/4 inches wide and 2 inches high.
it is made of brass and the writing on it says, The Property of the Erie Railroad Company. Below is a small insignia with the word Erie in it.
If it is, does anyone have a ballpark value of it and also is there a web site for collector of this kind of thing?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Tony in Ohio.

Dear Tony, In my Dad's screw chest...we (my brother and I) found 19 such metal pieces, some with the names of railroads that no longer exist. Each one is from a from different railroad. The Erie one sounds very similar to yours, and has that wording. Do you have any further information you would be willing to pass on to me? I checked ebay but couldn't find anything to help us price them either. A man in Michigan offered my brother about $10 a piece for the ones we wanted to sell. I have no clue if that is a fair price. Any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated. Beth
