ID help on some finds 05/23/2008

Hay Bama,

Wow, what a neat old lock.

Looks like plow points on the right.

Looks like an iron next to that. Need more photos to ID that.

Bridal, or horse tack ring on top. Those other two things might be horse tack also.

Bottom, middle looks like part of a mule shoe.

The round washer looking thing looks like a grommet.

That funny looking thing on the upper left, I'm not sure about.
It may be part of a steam powered planner matcher, or some
other similar wood working machine.

I found this and could never positively ID. But from the other finds close,
I think it is from a steam powered planner matcher.

Thanks for the help Tabdog.Your image looks like the object i found.I thought the Canoe looking
thing was an Iron also,but why would it have a cavity in it like that?

There was a cover and a handle.

They would open the cover and put hot coal in the cavity.
That kept the iron hot longer.

There were different designs.
