I found this today in a union camp south of Stanford Kentucky. The medallions or rosettes are brass and measure 2 15/16" from top to bottom. The chain(s) are also brass. It was hooked together when I dug it, but it appears to be two separate items, both identical? I am taking a guess and saying it is some sort of horse accouterment, possibly civilian. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Dave HH[attachment 63384 2007_0707relicsCW0052.JPG]

It looks too delicate to have been related to equine usage. I think I have seen something similar hanging around wine bottles. interesting no doubt...

A person on another forum asked is there was a chance of the area were this was found had been used as a fairground. May be part of the regalia of a "hootchie cootchie" dancer! What do you think?
Thanks, Dave HH
