ID Help Needed

I found this old (Coin)? today at an old site . It's a little larger than a half dollar. As you can see it has '20' stamped on it (off center). It has a wreath around the 20. On the other side it has what looks like a shield with a little world in it, an a wreath also. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Not sure what you have there, but I don't believe it's a coin.....probably a token or commemorative medal of some sort....my guess would be ca 1900 based on the style globe and typeface used for the "20." Nice find for sure and I hope someone can ID it.

Note: If Nick's post is correct on the Minelab forum I guess I was wrong on both counts! Well, I was guessing. Looks like a pretty cool old Brazilian coin.....congrats!

Yes, it looks like Brazil. The style of the 2 is similar though to an earlier coin around 1835. Really neat find!
