:help:just how good is the id-excel,im thinking about buying a second detector and cant decide between a coinstrike or excel.i want something with the vdi numbers.

If you're a CZ user, I'd look for a used excel or C$ to try out... don't buy new. Better yet, but from a local dealer or find someone in your area who has one you can tery it out. You'll be shocked the first time you hear the C$ grunt at you. Yes, it grunts, not beeps. If you LOVE your CZ, you will probably hate the C$.

from those who own both. They will also probably ask you where and for what purpose you'd like the machine. I only own the Excel, and so I am going to say something many usually omit, it is FUN, that's right a fun machine. Want it to act like a simple turn on and go with VDI, it can go that. Want to shock and amaze your friends with big buck machines? Invite them to the trashiest site you can think of, and while they turn on their "iron masks" and "iron eliminators" and WORK their tails off, you'll actually enjoy the outing. At the end of the adventure, you won't be stressed out and have ringing in your ears.

It's real good, I have #29/ one of the first ones, have my 2nd C$ they are very good, do just about everything very good, are very flexible and can be programmed for whatever , the Excel is just about as good, it's excellent, just dosen't have the flexibility of all the options , works great, lighter , simpler, costs less, the C$ is the way to go if you are really SERIOUS, but the EXCEL is very close, fine machine=GO FOR IT, coins, relics, bout anything, but for gold you need a gold machine,:detecting::detecting::fisher::fisher::fisher::fisher::usmc::usmc::usaflag:
I'm sure others will have something to add to what i say :)

You have GB you can set, or automatic tracking, adjustable volume, adjustable threshold, backlight for readout, 3 menus you can preset, salt mode either on or off,cAN BE HIP OR CHEST MOUNTED, dang probly some other stuff i can't think of right now, somebody else take over, depends on what your'e gonna use it for or look for as the difference, and then the $ diff too:):detecting::fisher::fisher::fisher::usmc::usaflag:
theyr'e both real good and lifetime warranty, should you buy it new:D

:cool:thanks for all the responces i had about the id excel and the coinstrike.right now im trying to get use to using my cz3d but i also have a cz6a.not hunted with it much i hit two areas in town i live near and found lots of clad and five wheaties and no silver, only a mangled silver thimble.sotrta disapointed not finding any really old mony or silver.the one house was built in 1910 and the other in 1920.mainly i coin shoot and relic hunt.still taking some time to get use to using the 3d but so far i like it.

I would save your money, wait, take the time to really learn your CZs. A new machine might find you older coins, but the two machines you have will do REALLY well.

If I had to choose a C$, a CZ3D, or the old CZ6, I gotta tell you I'd take the CZ6... if there's silver there, you'll find it.

How long have you been using the machines? Detecting and any detector you have to learn... like playing an instrument. Stick with one machine, learn to tune it to get the most out of it.

Ground balance properly, work your sites slowly, overlapping sweeps of the coil. Remember your coil is only sending a signal (cone shaped!) the size of the INNER ring of the spider coil, so you need to overlap your sweeps measured on the INNER ring, not the outer 8" ring. If it's there you'll find it. Really.

Better to learn one machine well than to own many and be a master of none.

:lol:been using my cz6a since 1994 found more than i should, but still love this machine.im trying to get use to my cz3d and hope i will.my siter inlaw works for garrett and she gets mad at me because i like fisher but i known which one is the best.i had a 1000 gta but no depth had to buy a hothead coil to get any depth also had a nautilis but no good .
