ID Error

My Minelab is already two months past its warranty, but I'm having intermitted / eratic ID problems. I talked to the Minelab rep and he said all it was is two cold solder joints on the circuit board. Does anyone know how to pop off the plastic housing without damaging the shell?

My opinion is this. If there are cold solder joints on the board then they were like that from the beginning. I think they should take care of the problem if indeed the solder joints are intermittent. Did you ask them if they would warranty such an issue?

to diagnose your problem over the phone, and it is cold solder joints, they have been there all along. Call Trina Bonney or Bill Branin (Lead Tech MineLab USA) in Vegas and tell them you want it fixed under warranty. In the meantime, I'll send an email to Bill and fill him in. HH Randy
