Some advice on the ID Edge please.Is it a good choice for Middle TN.?Soil is hot,and clay.

Sorry, can't speak for your soil conditions. Maybe some of the experts here - Bill Ladd, Jackpine Savage, Barnacle Bill and others
 
I just got my Edge yesterday.
It air tests really good, but I haven't had the chance to swing it outside yet. The ground in my part of north Alabama is tough red clay, so we'll see how it goes.

The Edge works awesome in North Carolina's red clay. I consistently get coins in the 10 inch range with the 8 inch coil. The best unit I've ever used in iron and just an all around great little detector. Buy an MXT to complement it and you have all the bases covered. I use the MXT for woods hunting and the Edge everywhere else but both are great detectors. Edge is better for higher conductive coins like silver and the MXT shines on buttons and other relics.
