I found this at a 200yrs old barn.
It has Joseph Haywood around the top of th eagle in the middle & at the bottom i think Shefsiel.
 
Looks like a medallion from a handsaw bolt. The word at the bottom is most likely "Sheffield," indicating that the blade was good-quality steel from Sheffield, England. You can see some similar medallions from the well-known Disston brand of saws here:
