Hi all i found a Token it reads Good For 2 1/2 Cents In Trade / other side Fred Fritz 240 Burnside St Portland, Ore
I will send the other side in the next post, Multable Pics ????? Thank you all for your Info, Mickfin

The other side, Thanks,

Nice find. I find old tokens to be just as interesting as old coins. Lots of history behind them. As far as your octagonal Fred Fritz token, he had several taverns in Portland during the late 1800 - early 1900's. http://www.mcmenamins.com/system/uploads/assets/History_PDFs/history.broadway.pdf

This token from his establishment on Burnside would have likely bought you a beer or two.

Fritz joined forces with a man named Russell in the early 1900's and purchased the saloon they named "Fritz and Russell's Ericksons Saloon", which also had tokens produced for it.

Fantastic find Micky :clapping: and like Randy, I love finding those old tokens and researching the history of them. Some of them are very rare and collectors pay handsomely to add another one to their collection.

That token looks to be in good shape Mick and Randy gave some excellent history on it/them.-----Like Larry said, some tokens are valuable.----I had a guy come up to me once when I was detecting wanting to buy certain tokens that I might find while detecting.---There's a market for 'em for sure.----We have never sold a single token we have ever found though, they just make up too neat of a collection.---A lot of our tokens aren't in all that great of shape but yours looks to be in good condition.---------Del
