Icy 2 silver day

Hit this one spot down a steep bank across from an old school, slid down on the snow in my waders with gear held high! Figuring the kids might have made a bee line for it in the past...got a 60 and a 46 rosie, 10 wheats, 4 mems, 3 jeff nickles, and a 65 Q...plus all sorts of other oddities with the AtPro. In the 20's at night, and low 30's in the day, sort of funny to slide the coil on top of ice, then stomp through to dig a signal! This is how low the water is in the Great Lakes boys...down over 3' (yes feet!) in the last few years and still falling! I was real desperate to get out and hunt as you can see...this place has been on my mind a lot, so its good to see the thinking was right for once!

Nice on the silver. Likely more there .

Mud, congrats on the silver!! I was going to mention about being cautious when you walk over that mud. It can be treacherous when you start sinking and no one's around to pull you out. Might be best to take a buddy along with you. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Well done mud, nice silvers.

Thats a big drop in water level, whats behind that?

Seriously, they are saying lack of rain and snowfall. BUT with the government you never know.

My uncles used to say the Great Lakes have a 7 year tide, it will drop then come back up...but this time is different, there was a huge dredge project over by detroit in that narrow part, to allow for larger ships. and the water is rushing through there so fast, sort of like when you drag a stick through a puddle, once it starts draining, its hard to stop. We are getting little to no snow as well, we used to get 10' by now, but theres grass showing in my yard today. I can say the water has been falling since the late 80's...there are now islands with trees on them that I used to run my boat across in a foot of water. So I guess a combination of things..

Looks like a great opportunity there Mud. Looks like a little fishing going on around there also. We all take a chance once in awhile, be carefull down over that slope.
