n the market to buy a new water detector...curious to which one y'all think is the best...Looking at them all: minelab, whites, garrett, fisher, etc...give me some feedback on the units y'all think perform the best...also if there is a chance i can find an all in one detector it would be nice...one to hunt in the water, on the beach, and in parks and old homesites...thanks for all the help in advance...

If you are going to hunt dry/wet/water I would suggest a Excal or CZ20, if you're going to stay in the water either of those or a PI which I prefer... I'm sure you will get lots of opinions here :)

There are so many good machines out there I could make a big list... The Whites BeachHunter is also a good detector or the Detector Pro's...

My opinion is there is no detector for both in the water (submersable)and land hunting. You should buy one of each. With water hunting you don't need much for discriminating, cause dig all is the motto, just good depth and sensativity and good stability in bad grounds and salt water. Yes you can do it but you are cheating yourself. I own a Minelab xs and an Excaliber....great combo...If the XS was submersable then that would be the one to have. Unfortunatly they are high end detectors but if you have the $$$$ go for it, you will not be sorry. I am so amazed with the ability of these two detectors I would never ,ever,ever....use another...only because I am very impressed...sorry I do not have any other experience with other brands but why should I if I am digging deep targets, and am finding good stuff.....with great stability in bad ground and salt water.

I have a 1350 for land, and just got a Tiger Shark for water (fresh here). I would HATE to have to use the water machine for a primary detector, I like a METER and notch discrimination too much.

I hunt with a Whites Beach Hunter ID it will do water and wet dry sand great!!I put it in disc mode for dry sand using the tone ID.In wet sand and water I use all metal mode with the ID lights to tell me what range the targets in gold/nic/pulltab (white) silver/coins(green) iron(red) in all metal it goes deep!! good price too!! If I'm only hunting in water I would use my Whites P.I. hope this helps. HTTP://COMMUNITY.WEBTV.NET/BEACH-HUNTER/BEACHHUNTERSFINDS
