There are days I just do not feel like doing ToT lots, ball fields, trash sites, beach and water, relic hunting, school yards etc, etc, etc. Spring is close by and the farmers will be warming up the tractors for spring planting. I live in upstate New York along the Hudson River. This area was first settled in the late 1500's by the Dutch.

I have a 30 day window before planting and 3 months after harvest to work this site. I have 150 acres to work and I can't be taking my time double checking and working slow. I want a machine where I can walk slow with a full swing side to side. Dis will be set from 0 to 2 and if it sounds off, I dig. :detecting::cheers:

Most any machine with at least an 8 inch coil will work.

For relic hunting I would suggest a larger than stock coil.

big coil. i like my hip mount eldorado, old big box with a 10.5 coil. the hip mount makes swinging easier. i tend to walk fast, and the unit seems to work alright at fast speeds. no meter or id to drive me nuts. we hunt fields like this in Ga. if we hit on a few targets in an area, then we know we are on a house site. simple older machine without the whistles and bells, hip mount for duration, big coil. GPS the spot for goodie finds, like the meteorite guys do. in a field like that, i would also carry a rare earth magnet for meteorites. just been reading up on them in Ga, and watching the tv shows on them, and now i tote a magnet, hoping for a first. good luck, theres gotta be something there!
