some people feel they have to reply to almost EVERY SINGLE POST? Are they going for some kind of record or something? There is a few on here who never offer anything in their replies except "good find" or "Congrats". This drives me up the wall. I have quit reading their stuff. Seems like it takes up a lot of space on the server.

we do that for encouragement! everyone likes to be ecouraged or atleast i know i do!:beers: makes everyone feel good about their hard work! dont know if anyone else agrees?

thanks, weston

I agree Weston, i really think some people appreciate what it takes to work hard at a hobby like this and make some good finds. IMO seems kinda harsh, after all this is a forum isn't it. I'm a member of a few and this one is by far the best. I may not post that much but i usually read every night.

I suppose that different people have different attitudes to the forums and get different things from the forums. I see the forums as an opportunity for people to share; share their happiness; share their frustrations; share their concerns when things dont seem to be going right. Some people seem to contribute often, some seldom have offerings to make. Some are willing to share their knowledge and experience, and this helps all of us who read the posts on the forums. Some people like to encourage those who do make finds, and those who do well in the field. That too is sharing. I dont think anyone should be discouraged from sharing, whether it be thier knowledge or their encouragement....without them the forums would be pretty empty. JMHO

Its a free world
post if you want to...dont if you dont
read it if you want too...." " " "
IMHO...Live and let live.

Lots of people just post pic's of their finds, so there's not much comment to make other than "good for you" etc

I give credit where it's due, but then I add a piece of advice-tip-technique, ask a question, and/or point out a piece of equipment that will help in their search.

Well I guess you do not read my post very much then? No I am not going for a record I try to let everybody that post a picture or a hunt that they did well. IMHO it makes them feel mbetter. I know it does If I get the same. No harm no foul. If you read them ok if not ok. I enjoy the forum and all it involves, Beale.

Encouragement. Sometimes if I see something I'm curious about I ask for details. Otherwise it's their post and all I say is WTG.

Good post man you did good.

Oh yeah Got pics?

I agree with all of you . If someone post a picture and then no one makes a comment at all it would be discouraging . That is why I post to peoples finds. I was raised with morals and I try to treat people the way I want to be treated . Nice find to me encourages me and others more than no post at all. just my opinion though. That is what makes this forum so good is all the opinions and ideals.

Actually I was kinda messin with ya. Although this question does make for a good topic. Forces people to think a little. If you watch you will also notice that certian people tend to kill topics. Which must be discouraging for some.

But remember if everybody refrained and never replied then the board would dry up. You have to have some humor. This board isn't really bad, I've seen some boards that are ridicules. Generally i think this board is running fine. It is a good clean board and i really appreciate that. JMO
