I wonder why Tesoro hasn't made a ground balancing PI detector.

I wonder why Tesoro hasn't made a ground balancing PI detector. They already have the Sand Shark PI unit. Just some minor changes and viola, all the Tesoro fans would have a ground balancing PI unit.

Just Curious.

They Would need a metal detector designer to do that. Judging by their total lack ofnewdetectors, they apparently don't have one.

Also, the market is well served with these type detectors, so making any money by designing and building one would be tough to,do.

Ground balancing is not that important with a pi machine.......the difference it would make would be negligable. Why spend development costs on something that gives the customer very little back?
I think this is where people get a bit confused with a company like tesoro,we have the same sort of company over here called c scope. They are always criticised for not bringing out new machines to compete with the latest offerings from other manufacturers but at the end of the day, their machines already compete with anything that keeps coming onto the market with a host of useless features that don't give you any advantage.
Groundbreaking detector technology is non existent at the moment,so manufacturers have to keep on bringing out models that promise more treasure and less trash by equiping the machine with fancy new modes, programs etc that convince the consumer that they are missing out on something.
It would be interesting to compare the best tesoro models to the latest high tech offerings on a range of "real world" targets that have been buried in the ground for a while to see which machine did the best.I've done such tests on numerous machines and I can say with all honesty that I have'nt found that one brilliant machine that different manufacturers adverts keep telling us about......tesoro machines still compete well. This is more than likely why a company like tesoro won't keep bringing out new models......it's because they still can't offer features that give the consumer a genuine advantage over other machines based on current technology.
I'm sure that tesoro could equipe a current model with a few extra knobs and switches, give it a different name and sell it like hot cakes, but this is only taking advantage of the consumer.......and it would be easy to do as demonstrated by other manufacturers machines that keep hitting the market, models that don't perform any better than their previous machines.
Recently,on a different forum,a detector manufacturer posted about their latest release saying that they had listened to customers and introduced all these ideas into their new machine and used the phrase "less trash, more treasure".Replies to this from forum members were positive and many said they would purchase the new machine.I posted that if this certain manufacturer could guarentee that their machine would beat my old tech machine over 50 real world targets I would order one the next day.........funnily enough they stopped posting..............that says it all I think.

PI's are a small niche market. Tesoros are "general purpose" and suit most needs. But, it was mentioned to me by one of their past employees, Tesoro is-was in desperate
need of a new PI design.
My Mirage Pi's are specific to gold nuggets and small jewelry. No ground balance, not needed as it handles "most" soils/salt without performance loss or issues
using a mono coil. Australian Golden Triangle has some of the worst in the world, that's a true test for any machine, mine included. In the works is a new circuit board
designed to also use a DD coil to help combat the Aussie Goldfields.

Tesoro has everything they need to produce a superb VLF, they just can't seem to get their act together to built it.
It was mentioned numerous times, its so simple, they just take a blind eye approach to building a new product. If I were there boss, I would kick their butts out the door.
If I had the money, I would buy out Tesoro's detector business.
First new machine

Golden Sabre III
Use the GS as a base platform. Increase depth performance to Tejon/Vaquaro specs.
Using the Tejon control box.
1-3 tones selector switch, separate the tones more than the past GS
Tone pitch shift like the Tejon
Movable notching
iron volume control
180 disc
GB that carries over to disc mode.
Pinpoint button
frequency shift

It would need to be as deep and sensitive as the current Tejon.
Offer a 6.5" concentric coil, 8x9 concentric and DD and..............

Price it at AT Pro price, I would surely buy one. Monte would too............................as well as Mike H...................

To make everyone happy, package it in black like the Troy Shadows and call it the Cazador.

Build this sucker and they will be bringing in the bucks for years. It would be a no-nonse, professional beep and dig.
Until they do come out with something like this, sorry to say, I am sticking to the DeepTech beep and digs.
