I wonder what happened

Good question. I wonder how many employees there were at the old Fisher when FT bought them out.

Tom

Two years in a row I watch them loose a bowl game.......I might have to get me a new ballcap that doesnt have OU on it:drinking:

Oh well, what do you expect from a Giants fan........lol

How are you BJ?

Im thinking of getting me one of these F75s...........

Neil

Almost all of them got layed off. Some of the Engineers came on to Texas. Those Califrnians sounded very unhappy when I talked to them. I think the sales person I was taliking with said about 60 to 70 people were let go.

Neil,, OU is way over rated and are the most up and down team.Back when they beat FL. st. they had good coaches and a good team. Then other schools hired their coach's.OU lost their offence coach to a Texas school, If you watched them play, then you saw their play calling sucked. Plus, they were missing 6 key players.WV should have played USC, that would have been a better game and OU should have played Po Dunk High.
The F-75 is a good detector for the right site,I would like to see a small DD coil for it. I would also like to see one that had been used for 12 years, and then compare it to a CZ that has been used that long..
Do the Giants still have a team ???
HH...BJ

You have a good point, a friend sent his CZ 5 to FT for a tune up, seems like they had it for over a month.
When he got it back, the control box and 2 coils were in a Fisher box, loose and they shipped it by UPS and the box was in bad shape, UPS just left it on his front porch and left, it was scratched up but worked ok.
FT could not even pack it right. He took pictures and emailed them to FT, he also called, no one has ever reply-ed to him.
I have read of others that had the same happen to them, one guy, they had to replace his detector, because it was not packed right and UPS broke it.

I had a good relationship with Fisher, made em some nice glass stuff, and bout 3-4 months fore the BH deal=NOTHIN, so I figger they got the axe, m' nephew lives couple blocks away from the Los Banos, and sez looks like nothin there last report i heard, but on my experiences with BH, i never had a good one, soo I'm still leery, they may be OK, but i spose i'll keep on waitin till i decide to go back to Fisher or write em off, had 7 of em , they was gooders, but never feel like i kin git back into the Texas Fisher outfit, at one time i was Big on Shadow too=But what is Troy doin???? HUH??
OH Well, chicken today=feathers tomorra ,i guess:detecting:
They still lotta good brands out there:confused:

yeah!...what IS troy doin" these days!.i remember talkin' to him a few years ago when he was associated with fisher!..he was excited about his x-3,and x-5 detectors!..apparently they "croaked" and he is out of business?..comments!

I believe some were given the option to move and keep their job while others just let go..They lost a lot of good people and its evident in some cases with the service after the sale..Locally several plants moved out and with them went the good paying jobs so imagine its par for the course over the U.S.

 Hi Bugar, Many people don't know that the Troy detectors were made with Fisher parts. So maybe that has something to do with it. A whole lot of people just did not like the whole Fisher/Bounty Hunter deal and neither do I. My patience is running out with all these companies. They won't update their websites, customer service is poor, and there are no new detectors in site yet. I am wanting to upgrade but there is nothing on the market I want right now.
Anyways,.... Happy Hunting. DF.

On a positive side the F2 I bought seemed a good detector. The coils seemed light but worked perfectly. I sold and ordered a Edge before they disappeared.
And I received a phone call from FT after inquiring about the 6th Intelligence, they are going to try and send me a disc.

hi!..dirtfisher!
i feel your pain!..this is just a guess with no hard data to back it up.however it might have something to do with the shi**y economy!..treasure hunting is NOTa priority
for a lot of people when they are faced with trying to heat their homes in the winter,OR purchasing food from week to week!..believe it or not,a lot of people are having tough times now,and possibly more in the future!...money just keeps getting tighter, and tighter all over the country!

I just got my GBII back from the shop as the left battery (as you face the compartment while replacing the battery) had to be inserted backwards to work. The left hand decal below the battery compartment is - + and the only way to get the detector to turn on was to place the battery + -. That didn't really bother me but if I ever tried to sell it the buyer might wonder what the heck was going on. So I emailed Fisher Labs with my phone number attached and asked them about it. After a week I forwarded my previously sent message with a "bump, haven't been contacted" message. About a week after the second email someone called me with mailing instructions stating to use USPS because UPS throws the boxes around and could damage the unit. So I took apart the shaft, wrapped the GBII up in newspaper so it wouldn't jostle around, and shipped it to them in the original box that it came in. I purchased the detector in September and found the problem in October. I never felt the need to get it repaired until the snow started flying.

None of the above had made me mad at this point. What urks me is below.

I received my unit back via UPS. It only took about 10 days turnaround time. Still not really bothered but wondered why they would use UPS. There was no damage to the unit via shipping. I pulled the unit out of the box, took the plastic off the control box and the coil and proceeded to put the shafts back together. That's when I got po'd.

The plastic piece where you pull the battery compartment door off is broken. They had put the control box back on the unit upside down (so the controls face the coil) and put the coil on backwards (so the tip of the coil faced my feet). I guess my question is- do they typically ship a detector as I described for protection reasons? The dealer that sold me the unit had the detector out of the box so I never saw it packaged. I'm hoping that it wasn't taken apart and put together backwards out of spite. Oh yeah, the work order in the box said Corrective Action- "I repaired- Both wiring were connected to its polarity".

Hope it finds some gold now, haa , haa!

OK
I sent my t2 in for repair in the same box that it came in. I got it back in reasonable time and it was packed just like it was when it was new.
