I took the Cortes out today it was hotter the hell in the wood's i want to hit a old cellar hole that was pounded to death. I decide to work a area were the metal was a pain to detect i sort through a lot of hand forged nails .I got a couple nickle reading dug down a into black burn soil there was some glass piece melted in the hole i pulled out two melted chunk's of gold that are blacken to hell i bent a piece a broke it to make sure gold PS thanks dirt doctor the coil worked good!

I've found spilled lead from casting areas, but not gold. Congrats on that find!

Must have been a hot fire to melt that gold. Had to be over 1600 degrees. Makes you wonder what it was. Nice score.

You could take them to any jeweler and they will test it for you, often for free...Only real way to be sure...
