I will gladly pay $1,000.00 for................

a detector that has the depth of the Tejon with a digital target I.D. Is that what the Cazador might be?? Because if it is............... then it was truly worth the wait. Really hope Tesoro doesn't let us down with a new " more of the same, beep and dig machine" .

Most folks including me have given up on this so called super duper Tesoro, its been a total PR failure for the company i think,i am more than happy just using my very old models as they do work very well on my roman sites. But as a everyday machine i tend to use more modern machines.

I have went detecting two maybe three times all summer long, started a new job & I don't have a detector other than the one a fella sent to me to check out and told me that I can use it as long as I want (Fisher CZ-7). I am hoping that with my pay checks and when my wife starts work after summer vacation (she works at our local school) we will have a little extra money so I can buy a detector. I enjoy detecting in late summer and in the Fall so I am hoping that the new Tesoro will be out then and if it is in my price range I will have one that is if it is a dirt/coin detector. I have no idea what this new detector will be like but I would be willing to bet that it will be out before the winter freeze.

I thought you were your own boss as a dairy farmer? What happened Ski?
I was a dairy farmer all my life (I am 53) but we had to sell the cows and all the farm land as we were not making enough to pay the bills, we did keep our house 10 acres plus the little bit of woods we have ( we burn wood in the winter for heating). We couldn't keep working 7 days/week every day of the year with our worn out machinery and everything else falling apart and not having the money for repairs. I am now working at a factory that doesn't pay alot but I have the weekends off, holidays off, and most of all I have no stress compared to the last few years we were farming. Getting the weekend off it almost like a vacation to me, the only time I had off when I farming was about 6 or 7 years ago when I had to recouperate from a mild heat attack and getting 3 stints in my heart. Here is where I am working http://www.ansencorp.com/ I recently tried the detector dealer thing but didn't sell enough detectors to cover my forum fees (I was a sponsor on another forum). I loved it while it lasted and was proud to be a Tesoro dealer. Over the years I have had the pleasure of using many Tesoro detectors, was Tesoro's field tester for the Outlaw which is something that I will never forget and I take great pride in, maybe one day I will be able to visit the Tesoro factory. I don't have alot, but what I have is priceless - my wife and kids, other family members and friends and a second chance at life after being so close to not being here due to my heart attack and clogged arteries. 3 of my 4 arteries were 100% blocked and the fourth one was 65% blocked. I am happy, life is good & I hope it is for all the rest of you. Sorry to ramble on it is one of my habits it seems.

So far it may still be a PR failure but if a good Cazador comes out I think sins will be forgiven...........however there may be a lot of bad feelings and damage to Tesoro, if the Cazador isn't new and dramatically diferent.

Dang Steve I thought I was having it bad but after reading your post I realize my life's events of the last 5-6 yrs wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm glad you made it through the heart attack my friend and your right about family being the most priceless things in this world. Even though we have never met I call you my friend! That's what great about these forums you make friends on them.

MD engineers don't have a problem getting depth, according to Dave J. It's depth and ID, with what we are looking for (rings and coined sized objects) with an identifiable tone or display. A two box detector can go many feet in depth, but can't detect 8" coins or rings. I'm sure that 3-30 khz range with comparable depth with ID (sound or/and display) is being stretched as far as it can be in different ground metrics as it is. Physics does have laws.

There are MANY detectors on the market that meet that criteria, some priced well below $1000.

It takes time to work out the bugs of a new machine , I think they did a good job on the outlaw , right now if I wanted a machine to hunt a sports field i would chooz the outlaw simply because its not over powered , and i can check to see if I have a deep big Iron with the threshold all metal , that threshold all metal really tells you how deep how big something is in the ground , for example I got a beep in the hard packed gravel road and figured it was a small target at maybe 6" NOT after digging a foot down in hard packed gravel it was a can , now if I had the outlaw i could have esaly figured that out by switching into threshold all metal . its a bit harder to tell with the compadre and the Vaquero was way to hot for a sports field not that i dislike the VAq , but would rather use the Vaq somewhere els . so it just may be they are perfecting the machine , and thats going to take some time , do we want our burgers uncooked or raw with E coli hay its takes time , It do take time

Steve - I picked up a used Whites Eagle Spectrum for next to nothing that was a bit rough but I've got it running well now. Only had it out a few times and haven't learned it well, but works as it should. With the Compadre you sold me a few months back, as well as a F75 in my arsenal, if this interests you I would send it your way to use until something else comes along - no charge, just pass it back or 'pay it forward' to someone else when done.

 I have been checking the website and forums every day hoping to see the new Cazador. Today I have decided to stop it. I agree with Ivan.

My same exact thoughts. I've used some of them, but I still prefer my Cibola. :)

Some people just like to complain.

I wanted to send you a pm but for some reason it wouldn't let me. Here is what I wanted to say -

Thank you very much for your kind offer, I do really appreciate it. If the Spectrum is something that you would consider selling I might be interested in buying it. I have never used one but had a black box White's Eagle SL a number of years ago and really liked it. If you would like to sell it let me know your price. Thanks again, your a kind person. Steve.

Our prayers are still with you AND your family, Steve. BTW, the secondary discrimination can be set where tabs (not those that fall in the nickel range) break up on the Tejon and you have an effective ID. I had one I put on my Silver, so I know what I'm talking about. You'll forget about the Cazador if you: use it.

You're right about the secondary discrimination being an effective ID on the Tejon. I normally dig everything, but sometimes when a hit a park that's really loaded with beaver tail pull tabs I'll use the secondary discrimination to ID them.

You got a good one Tabman.........

Well good to see you back on your feet and working as anyone with a steady job nowadays is doing good in my eye's. What happened to the good old 70's when the economy was rollin'? Heck if you didn't like your current job you could quit walk across the street and get another! I feel sorry for kids today.
