I was a dairy farmer all my life (I am 53) but we had to sell the cows and all the farm land as we were not making enough to pay the bills, we did keep our house 10 acres plus the little bit of woods we have ( we burn wood in the winter for heating). We couldn't keep working 7 days/week every day of the year with our worn out machinery and everything else falling apart and not having the money for repairs. I am now working at a factory that doesn't pay alot but I have the weekends off, holidays off, and most of all I have no stress compared to the last few years we were farming. Getting the weekend off it almost like a vacation to me, the only time I had off when I farming was about 6 or 7 years ago when I had to recouperate from a mild heat attack and getting 3 stints in my heart. Here is where I am working http://www.ansencorp.com/ I recently tried the detector dealer thing but didn't sell enough detectors to cover my forum fees (I was a sponsor on another forum). I loved it while it lasted and was proud to be a Tesoro dealer. Over the years I have had the pleasure of using many Tesoro detectors, was Tesoro's field tester for the Outlaw which is something that I will never forget and I take great pride in, maybe one day I will be able to visit the Tesoro factory. I don't have alot, but what I have is priceless - my wife and kids, other family members and friends and a second chance at life after being so close to not being here due to my heart attack and clogged arteries. 3 of my 4 arteries were 100% blocked and the fourth one was 65% blocked. I am happy, life is good & I hope it is for all the rest of you. Sorry to ramble on it is one of my habits it seems.Harold said:I thought you were your own boss as a dairy farmer? What happened Ski?

I wanted to send you a pm but for some reason it wouldn't let me. Here is what I wanted to say -carvlin7 said:Steve - I picked up a used Whites Eagle Spectrum for next to nothing that was a bit rough but I've got it running well now. Only had it out a few times and haven't learned it well, but works as it should. With the Compadre you sold me a few months back, as well as a F75 in my arsenal, if this interests you I would send it your way to use until something else comes along - no charge, just pass it back or 'pay it forward' to someone else when done.

BTW, the secondary discrimination can be set where tabs (not those that fall in the nickel range) break up on the Tejon and you have an effective ID. I had one I put on my Silver, so I know what I'm talking about. You'll forget about the Cazador if you: use it.
Well good to see you back on your feet and working as anyone with a steady job nowadays is doing good in my eye's. What happened to the good old 70's when the economy was rollin'? Heck if you didn't like your current job you could quit walk across the street and get another! I feel sorry for kids today.SkiWhiz said:I was a dairy farmer all my life (I am 53) but we had to sell the cows and all the farm land as we were not making enough to pay the bills, we did keep our house 10 acres plus the little bit of woods we have ( we burn wood in the winter for heating).
