I went to an isolated part of the state today.

We went there with some friends to scope out some good MDing places. We ended up in some kind of battle. They didn't even know the civil war was over.

When the yanks came over the covered bridge, there was shootin everywhere. People was dying in the streets.

They were holding the confederate's general over in the covered bridge. I don't know what they were doing, but one lady said if they don't let her husband go they will be late for dinner.

As we were leaving town, I saw them amputate a man's leg.

We were lucky to get out of town.
We made it to our destination, a genuine W.Va. beach. It was so crowded, there wasn't any place to park. I took this picture farther down stream. There is a long sandy beach and a big pool of calm blue water above the rocks. My wife said it is beautiful and wants to go back in the middle of the week. I said anything for you dear.:twodetecting::twodetecting:

Damn yankees, still tryin' to invade the US. I'll bet those Rebs drove 'em off.

The stream looks mighty inviting for detecting, and I'm sure the scenery isn't too bad either. Good luck and good hunting, and as always GREAT pics.

I've been a civilwar reenactor since 1993 and love that hobby also. I hope the guy that was getting his leg cut off was the guy on the ground with the work boots on:rofl:Not period footware. Nice pictures!Seems like the old swimming will be a good site to hunt later. Check the water out down stream from the hole. Might find some rings.
