I was getting tired, so i switched to disq and wanted to see if i could get somthing non ferrous to come thru and i finnaly got a riging high tone i knew was not Iron , what i was picking up was the brass on the tip of the old farmers shovle, he aperantly fixed it by brassing a new tip on it and the GT rang it in proff that the farmer buried his stash somwere on bone hill , I also found a cut nails 18" deep the 1st one was 10" and then i got a signal in the bottom of the hole deeper still 18" another cut nails this is a strange spot

Your mission (should you choose to accept) is to find what was buried with this shovel. Maybe it was bone hill back then too. Are there any noticeable landmarks? Rocks, large trees or tree stumps? Think about where the house was... is the area (where the shovel was found) hidden from plain view? One tree bigger than most? hmmm Maybe the person was planting a tree. Maybe there was a shed in the area. Or maybe its the dream we all dream about - a mason jar filled with coins :) Why the shovel was left behind? Who knows, the person(s) could of been distracted by another event and then forgot to go back and get the shovel. Maybe it was so hot outside digging, the person(s) left the shovel behind and went to the river to cool off. Coming back they simply forgot or couldn't find the exact location they dug / left the shovel at. It fell out of the cart / wagon...The senarios are endless. But we do know one thing for sure - someone was there with a brass tip shovel. Nice relic for sure. Now, its Gunnar's shovel. Thanks for sharing - Jim aka super dimeman
