I was just wondering

Julie and I were talking tonight about how much in the past year we spent on things. Then came the subject of how much we spent on prospecting/digging/metal detecting equipment and stuff. So, I was just wondering how much everybody else has spent in the past year. I know it's kinda personal, but just curious.

I never took the time to worry about it. It seems simple to me. It's cheaper then golf and I get money back. After two months I found enough rings to pay for my detector.

You may be someones wife trying to get her husband to fess up......

Great question, one we should all ask ourselves.

Im agree with Big John on this one (as I often do). I get what I need and can afford and then hunt the hell out of it, paying as I go to pursue my enjoyment. You should do the same.

BTW. Not to sound nasty, but I rarely post my really good finds, tell how much money I have to spend nor describe in detail what I purchase. Certainly not in public forum.
I had my home broken into once by someone I didn't know, but who learned just what I had worth stealing. Something to think about...

Ok For me it is the truck $27,000 6 detectors plus coils etc lost count of price.
Keeping the wife happy too much money( house, car, etc).
For me priceless to find that penny or pulltab.
In other words my hobbie makes me very happy.
I can get by with my under $200 prizm or my minelab 3500 and be happy. Some People will buy $200,000 cars and $1,000,000 boats and not be as happy as I am.:clapping:

There should be a flip side of your question how much money have I made.I always consider when buying a metal detector what is the resale value going to be of my equipment. Dave has a great attitude pay as you go,buy and sell equipment as you need it and look for good buys. How about the value of the finds, not to mention the stress relief.

todd i have spent over 1200 dallars mostly because i just got back into it and had to buy a detector im hoping it will pay off but so far im in a defisite for shure that could change at any time but come winter up hear in minnesota diggings going to get real tuff maybe i can go south for the winter would love to hunt florida beaches just have to watch the under tows my dad almost drowned in a rip tide how much have you spent
