I want to mod my 4.8V Whites pack-were do I get GOOD C cell NimH cells

I haven't found much online except for some 5000maH packs (overkill) I want to just use my whites 4.8V NiCAD charger (good enough for me in that top off range) I also don't know if the 5000maH NimH will fit in the old cell holders used by the Whites NiCADS (the 4C cell Holder). Anybody done this before that can direct me to the proper solution? Want to use NICE cells if possible. Discharge rate should not be a problem I would think. Thanks

Batteries that i have run upon I got at a Harbor Freight tool store and a good price with no questions guarantee, I was leery of them because of the price, but they really are holding up well, might check them out if a store is nearby, otherwise freight and shipping tear you up, have bought some on the internet, supposedly good ones, and they did not hold up, and not worth the cost to send them back, so money down the drain :detecting:

Did you solder them into a pack or charge-replace? I have a couple of the rechargeable niCAD packs from an earlier trade and they are very old (not holding charge) I can easily open them up. I want to remove the old CAD's and put in Ni-mH. Thanks

did not solder, but i don't see any reason why you couldn't, being very careful of course, don't wanna battery blowing up in yer face:detecting:

Here is some info on charging NIMH's with a NICAD charger.

I've had the same set of NIMH's in my detector for 2 years and they are going strong. I use a NIMH charger. Rob
